VETCompass: VET Teachers’ Transversal Skills Competence Assessment System
Acronym: VETCompass
(Project number: 2023-1-DE02-KA220-VET-000166450)
The VETCompass project is pioneering in addressing the critical gap in Vocational Education and Training (VET) by focusing on essential skills necessary for VET Teachers to prepare students for the evolving labor market. It aims to create a comprehensive framework for assessing digital, pedagogical, and soft skills, equipping VET institutions with tools to enhance staff professional development. By evaluating and fostering these skills, the project seeks to revolutionize the effectiveness and attractiveness of VET education in Europe. Its innovative approach aims to advance VET quality and attractiveness through the identification and cultivation of these vital skills.
The project has two main goals: first, to figure out what skills VET Teachers/Trainers/Staff need; and second, to check how European VET Teachers’ skills measure up. The aim is to make VET more appealing by making sure teachers have the right skills for today’s needs in VET Education. Also, the project wants to help VET educators grow by giving them tools and resources for continuous professional development. By achieving these objectives, the project hopes to improve VET education overall.
