Every Story(Teller) Matters – Human Libraries and Mutual Recognition
“Every Story(Teller) Matters – Human Libraries and Mutual Recognition” (EStM-HLMR) is an EU-funded initiative set to run from September 2023 to October 2025. This project aims to leverage the unique concept of Human Libraries to promote mutual recognition, empathy, and social cohesion among youth in Europe, with a particular focus on including young immigrants.
Objectives
The project targets several key objectives:
- Empowering young migrants with tools to overcome cultural exclusion.
- Sensitizing local communities in partner countries to the intricacies of living in an intercultural community.
- Enhancing the capacity of youth workers and educators to promote the inclusion of migrants.
Consortium
The consortium is led by Early Care International (Denmark), coordinating a diverse team of partners across Europe:

Work Packages
The project is structured around six key work packages (WPs):
WP1. Project Management: Overseeing coordination and implementation.
WP2. Youth Workers Intercultural Development: Training youth workers to use Human Libraries for intercultural learning.
WP3. Young Immigrants Capacitation: Empowering young migrants to share their stories.
WP4. Human Libraries Implementation: Organizing Human Library events in partner countries.
WP5. Data Analysis and Tool Kit: Analyzing outcomes and developing a toolkit for replicating the model elsewhere.
WP6. Dissemination: Spreading the project’s findings and tools to a wider audience.
